Whether you're sailing around the Caribbean or staying on your favorite island, there's bound to be a signature cocktail on the menu. 
Why not put yourself back into the vacation mood and make your own?
 

A piña colada from Puerto Rico

Did you know that the pina colada, the most favorite of island cocktails originated in Puerto Rico? It was invented at the Caribe Hilton hotel in San Juan in 1954 and only takes three simple ingredients to put you on instant-delicious island time!
     

 

Ingredients: 

  • Two ounces of rum
  • Two ounces of fresh-pressed pineapple juice
  • 1.5 ounces of real coconut cream

Instructions:

  • Shake ice for 20 seconds
  • Dash of lime juice
  • Top with dehydrated pineapple 

 

Ti'punch from Martinique 

Popular throughout the French Caribbean, ti'punch is a simple cocktail consisting of rum, sugar, and lime. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ingredients: 

  • Slice of lime
  • Teaspoon of brown sugar
  • Two ounces of white rum

Instructions:

  • Stir with ice
  • Dash of lime juice
  • Top with dehydrated pineapple

Dark 'n Stormy from Bermuda  

The two-ingredient Dark ‘n Stormy is simple to make and delicious to drink.

 

Ingredients: 

  • Ginger Beer
  • Rum
  • Lime

Instructions:

  • Fill glass with ice
  • Pour ginger beer leaving room for the rum
  • Pour rum slowly on top
  • Add lime

 

A mojito from Cuba

Recognized worldwide, and one of Europe's favorite tropical cocktails, the mojito is as simple and tasty as it looks. 

Ingredients: 

  • Two teaspoons of Sugar
  • 10 fresh mint leaves
  • Juice of quarter of a lime
  • Rum

Instructions:

  • Combine sugar, mint, and lime in a shaker
  • Pour two ounces of rum
  • Shake with ice.

A painkiller from the British Virgin Islands

The fruity painkiller is best enjoyed near the water, created in the British Virgin Islands in the 1970s. 

 

Ingredients: 

  • Two ounces of rum
  • Four ounces of pineapple juice
  • An ounce of coconut cream 
  • An ounce of orange juice

Instructions:

  • Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker
  • Pour over ice
  • Top with nutmeg to serve 

Rum punch from Barbados

Many Caribbean islands have their take on rum punch—no surprise given rum's prevalence throughout the islands, and its ability to mix well with nearly any juice. 

Ingredients: 

  • Two ounces of rum
  • 1 ounce of lime juice
  • ¾ ounce of simple syrup
  • 3 dashes of Angostura bitters

Instructions:

  • Combine the first three ingredients in a cocktail shaker
  • Shake vigorously 
  • Top with bitters 
  • Fresh slice of lime 
  • Dash of nutmeg on top


Cuba Libre from Cuba

Last, but certainly not least, Cuba Libre is popular worldwide consisting of just rum and coke. It is the easiest of these Caribbean cocktails to recreate yourself.

Ingredients: 

  • Two ounces of light rum
  • Half a lime 
  • Bottle of coke

Instructions:

  • Squeeze lime juice into a highball glass
  • pour in rum
  • Fill cup with soda and stir
