One of our island friends Monica, emailed this to me last week....
"Hi Kim, I'm going to Turks. Have you been to West Indies Resort there? How is it?"
I replied with..
"Hi Monica, I haven’t been to Turks & Caicos actually, but we do have a couple of stores there. I could try asking what they think".
So I emailed them, and went off to bed. This "Australia/USA" time zone thing is weird. I woke up early the next day with responses from both our wonderful stores....
Dear Kim,
Royal West Indies is very nice! It is a beachfront condo resort, only 3 stories with nice landscaping, pool etc. There is a bar and restaurant on property by the pool and it is about 1/2 mile walk to our shop and the main strip of bars, restaurants and supermarket. There are places on the way too, so easy to get out in the evening. Taxi from the airport will be quite expensive, but I think that is the same the world over. Taxis here are expensive for anything so being able to walk places is good.
I am sure they will enjoy it.

Have a look at the gorgeous beach out front of the resort.
Walking distance to everything is a real plus too.... nothing worse than getting a little "stuck" in a resort because its too remote. I always love being able to explore on foot. Here are some of my favorite photos from Dive Provo's Facebook page... they have some really cool video's on there, so check it out.
Hi Kim,
That's great, I am more than happy to help. First and foremost Turks & Caicos is as beautiful as what they see on the internet. The weather right now is great, sunny and hot which I am sure they will love;
Places not to miss; Conch shack & Bugaloos for lunch right on the water. Fish fry on Thursday at the kids park (amazing). Coco bistro, bay bistro, mango reef for dinner. If they would like to go snorkeling off shore, smiths reef at coral gardens is perfect if they go in the morning they can see the turtles. One more thing, they have the half day boat trip that takes you out to snorkel for conch, which they will use to make your lunch, then take you out to the reef and to half moon bay where you will see some large iguanas its awesome. SHOPPING!!!! Anna's Art Gallery and Anna's Too located in Saltmills plaza in the heart of Grace Bay.
Hope that helps.

Here is Da Conch Shack.... how cool is this !
And the Fish Fry on a Thursday Night.... several websites highly recommend this, so looks great. This photo comes from Turks & Caicos Reservations site.
Here is what the Turks & Caicos Tourism board says about it....
"A cultural explosion is rocking Provo! Every Thursday from 5:30p to 9:30p at the Bight (Children’s) Park, over a dozen local food vendors, entertainers and cultural acts come together for Island Fish Fry to create an evening of “all things TCI.” Click here to visit the website and see the video. It looks like a lot of fun.
Now for shopping you have to have a look at how gorgeous Anna's Gallery looks. Here is a collage of my favorite photos. I just love how not only does Anna feature her own work, but she foster's local artists too.
Now if you are visiting Turks & Caicos by cruise ship, you have to call in on our other customer DIZZY DONKEY on the cruise ship pier. They are one of my oldest customers, and have a really adorable well-displayed store.
Turks & Caicos for a vacation.... YES PLEASE. Here is what google images gives me.... all my favorite shades of blue.
Have an awesome vacation Monica.... Hope all this info helps, perhaps one of our other island friends could benefit from it too.
One love x
